Tea or Coffee?
We all know these two beverages are loved by billions of people around the world, and nearly everyone starts their day with either tea or coffee. But before traveling to Iran, it might be helpful to know which drink is more common there.

Iran, with its vast and diverse climate, has long been a hub for cultivating some of the finest teas in the world. To this day, large black tea plantations exist in northern Iran. Interestingly, on some of our tours, we offer foreign tourists the chance to visit these tea plantations and even pick tea leaves themselves—a delightful experience we proudly present to our travelers.

As mentioned, Iran is a significant tea-growing region. So, it’s no surprise that the main drink of choice for Iranians is black tea, which is typically enjoyed three times a day. In most hotels, black tea is the primary beverage served during breakfast. However, a few hotels also offer coffee during breakfast.

If coffee is your favorite drink, don’t worry! You’ll find plenty of coffee shops in Iran serving a wide variety of coffee. So, sip your favorite drink and enjoy exploring Iran!
